Born in Earlsferry, Fife, Braid rose from humble beginnings as a clubmaker to dominate the professional game in the early 20th century.
Renowned for his strategic mind as much as his competitive steel, he later became one of the most influential golf course architects in history and was deservedly inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
